  • Do I really need an electrical plan for my renovation?

    In our opinion, YES! It will ensure your lighting is functional – that you have enough power and data points, that lights are positioned where they should be, and that the wires are placed where they need to be. Moving electrical points and lights can be costly and time-consuming, and a thought out electrical plan will help you avoid future mistakes.

  • Do I need to re-wire my house?

    During a renovation, you only need to totally re-wire your house if it is no longer to code. So it is best to have a professional, experienced electrician assess this for you.

  • How much will this cost me?

    We can’t give you a flat cost for electrical work for renovations – it completely depends on your requirements. What we can guarantee is that we will provide you with a completely obligation-free quote that is based on your needs so that you will always know exactly what you are paying for.

  • Is it cheaper for me to buy my own light fittings and fixtures?

    Not necessarily! Over the years we have established excellent relationships with our suppliers, and we can supply all of your lightings and fixtures from these suppliers at the same price you may find them online or instore.

    Plus, you’ll have the added bonus of not having to worry about picking them up or arranging delivery – we just turn up with everything you need and install it for you.

    You may be able to find products from other suppliers cheaper online, but there’s no guarantee that they will meet Australian Standards, which could be dangerous (and to us, not worth the savings)!

    By buying through us and our trusted supplier network, we can ensure your products meet all safety standards, are of the highest quality and are covered by a warranty (through which we can then help you should anything go wrong).

  • What electrical work can I do myself to save money?

    According to the current Australian Standard 3000:2007 “Electrical installations or Australian and New Zealand Wiring Rules”, all electrical work must meet or exceed these stated standards. This means that unless the work is done by a licensed electrician who knows these standards, your electrical work could be dangerous and even illegal. However, there are some things that the average homeowner can do, including installing garden lights, installing battery operated smoke detectors, installing some self-contained solar lights, and rewiring old style fuses. But, if you’re unsure, it is better to talk to an electrician first.
